Emmy Nominated Television Writer & Content Creator
Darnell Lamont Walker is a writer (Blue’s Clues & You, Two Whats?! And a Wow, Karma’s World), filmmaker (Seeking Asylum, Outside the House, Set Yourself on Fire), teacher, and a healer, currently creating content in hopes that all children get to see themselves.
He’s currently living between the Chattahoochee National Forest of Georgia and Johannesburg, South Africa, but Charlottesville, Virginia is Darnell’s hometown and the place he grew into an activist and transformative leader.
While at Esalen Institute as an artist, then again on Faculty, Darnell realized his work, artistically and in the wellness space, leads people toward healing and happiness. Darnell’s goal is to continue to support communities around the world through the building of safe spaces where these two things can expand.
As a Death Doula…
Trained to facilitate safe journeys with compassion, love, and true care through the most enigmatic area of the universe – the inner self. Because the space we enter, whether your home or mine, is sacred, our time together requires honest communication, vulnerability, and an open mind.
Death doulas assist in the dying process, helping with death plans, providing spiritual and emotional support before and just after death, helping with memorial services and assisting mourners in their responsibilities.
For over 10 years, I’ve aided in end-of-life care and the dying process in homes and hospices as a volunteer, caregiver, end-of-life doula, and transition guide, helping the dying as a warm and comforting presence as they face the unknown.
